Group Genius (the ‘Site’) is Software as a Service (SaaS) provided by Openskies Brand Management Consultancy Limited (us/we/our/the Company) registered in England and Wales under company number 4756373, and is contactable by email: support@groupgenius.co.uk. The Company is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office in England and Wales — Reference Number: ZA742114.
Terms of service
This Privacy Policy is considered part of our Terms of Service, as it may change from time to time and be published on the home page of the Site.
Personal information
Personal information is any information that can be used, alone or in combination, to identify you. For example, your account information (email and name).
Non-personal information
Non-Personal Information is not linked to your personal information; it cannot be used to identify you personally. For example, generic information about your computer hardware and software help us to provide tailored features and services, but do not enable us to identify you personally.
Responsibility
For the purpose of conforming with applicable data protection laws (General Data Protection Regulations) (GDPR) and the enforced iteration of the Data Protection Act, the Company will be responsible for your personal information.
Personal information that we collect and hold
For the purpose of creating an account, the Site requests a valid and verified email address, and full name. In addition to account information, to accommodate a variety of use cases, you are permitted to volunteer additional personal information (Job Title, Birthday, Addresses, Phone Numbers, Additional Email Addresses, Websites, Jabber, Skype, Facebook, Twitter, OpenID), which can be published on your My Profile page. Your My Profile page is designed to be about you, however, your use case may result in you not possessing control of the design and privacy settings of your My Profile (including personal information). Therefore, only surrender information to the Site that you are happy to become public. In line with the privileges given to you by the Administrator of the area(s) of the Site that you use, you may submit for publication; text, documents, content or information, and your submission will be labelled with your personal information (name linked you your My Profile page) in order to verify (digital signature) to other users that the submission originated from you.
Personal information that we will NEVER collect and hold
Other than the information listed above, the Site will NOT ask you for any further information, for any purpose. Should you purchase services from us or a third-party, the transaction will be subject to invoice and a subsequent BACS payment. Throughout your use of the Site, there will NEVER be a reason for you to disclose your PASSWORD or any form of PAYMENT information; NEVER DISCLOSE EITHER. Should you ever be asked for such information, please report such occurrence to support@groupgenius.co.uk, with evidence of the request (e.g. screenshot image).
Non-personal information that we collect and hold
The Site will automatically collect non-personal information about your computer hardware and software; such as your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times, operating system, cookie information, referring website addresses, pages visited, links clicked, text entered, and Internet Service Provider. This information will be used to tailor services delivered to you through your computer hardware. We analyse and use this information to better understand how users access and use the Site.
Information from third parties
A third party (e.g. employer) may submit your name and email address to the Site for the purpose of initiating the account creation process on your behalf. As instructed within the email that the Site will send to you, you can ignore this account creation request and it will expire, along with the storage of your personal information (e.g. name and email address).
Use of your personal information
The Site collects your personal information as necessary to perform legitimate functions of the Site, including to:
- operate the Site and deliver services.
- communicate with you about services you use, as well as respond to requests for assistance, including account verification support if you experience difficulty creating, configuring or accessing your account. We send several emails throughout the Account creation process, to make you aware that we’ve received a request for an account, giving you the opportunity to ignore and allow the request to expire, request that you verify your email address, and, finally, confirm that your password has been set. The Site may also email you to notify you of activity within the Site.
- display user content associated with your account and make certain that you and other users can identify and verify that content or an interaction originated from your account.
- understand and improve how our users use and interact with our services.
- publicly disclose aggregated statistics regarding our users’ use of our services.
Information privacy:
All content or information, including personal information, provided by you is done so with your permission to make that content public (Public Domain). Although, you may submit content to parts of the Site that are behind a password gateway, administrators of areas of the Site that you use may add additional audiences to that portion of the Site, and/or may change privacy settings to include additional audiences or allow them to become public (accessible by all Internet users) and open for anonymous consumption.
GDPR and Data Protection
Your personal information belongs to you at all times. At any time you can request that your User Account be suspended and your personal information anonymised, which means that, while we WILL NOT delete your content, we will anonymise the account details that label the content submissions that you have made. For example, a blog post will NO LONGER identify you as the author of that blog post. However, the blog post and its content will remain.
Use of cookies
In order to provide a fully functional service we utilise browser cookies to gather information regarding your computer while you are on the Site. Browser cookies are small data files stored and deleted automatically by your Internet browser.
Cookies help us to recognise you if you visit multiple pages on the Site during the same log in session, so that we don't need to ask you for your password on each page. Once you log out or close your browser, this cookie expires and no longer has any effect.
We also use longer-lasting cookies for other purposes such as when you ask your browser to remember your account information on our sign-in form, so that you don't need to retype it each time you log in to your account.
We encode our cookies so that we alone can interpret the data stored within them. We may utilise cookies as a means of collecting information about your computer or other devices you use to access the Site in order to provide legitimate Site functionality, mitigate risk and for fraud prevention purposes. You are free to decline our cookies if your browser permits, but doing so will interfere with your use of the Site and the quality of service available to you.
Data residency
Unless we notify you at the point of log in to the contrary, residency of data is London, United Kingdom. For security purposes we cannot disclose the address of the Data Centres that we use.
Storing your personal data
Data that is provided to us is stored on our secure servers. Submissions to the Site will be (Strong SHA2 & 2048-bit encryption) encrypted to ensure its safety.
Disclosing your information
We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for any reason.

You may find links to third party websites on our website. These websites should have their own privacy policies which you should check. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for their policies whatsoever as we have no control over them.
Access to information
The Data Protection Act 2018 gives you the right to access the information that we hold about you. Please note that any demand for access may be subject to payment of a fee of £10 which covers our costs in providing you with the information requested.
